The 21st Magnetic Recording Conference 2010August 16-18, 2010
The IEEE Magnetics Society is offering a limited number of travel grants to students attending the 2010 TMRC Conference who are working in the field of magnetism and magnetic materials. Grants of up to $1000 are intended to partially offset travel costs to the Conference. To be eligible for a Conference travel grant a student must present a paper at the Conference, be enrolled in a Ph.D. or terminal masters program, and must not have previously received a Conference or Magnetics Society travel grant. The student's advisor must be a member of the Magnetics Society and must write a letter of recommendation. A second letter of recommendation must be received from another member of the Magnetics Society. Only one application per research group will be accepted. Preference will be given to students who are nearing completion of their Ph.D. graduate studies.
Application forms and instructions for all travel grants are posted below. The deadline for submitting applications and letters of endorsement is 5:00 PM eastern daylight time on June 11, 2010. Incomplete or late applications and endorsement letters will not be considered. Applicants will be notified of the committee's decision by June 18, 2010.
