Should I bring my own poster for the poster session?

Yes, all students are encouraged to bring their own posters to participate in the poster sessions on 6/22, 6/23, and 6/25. There will be no poster printing service at the venue, so you need to print and bring the posters with you to San Diego. Poster size should be 3' (92 cm) wide x 4' (122 cm) tall. Pins or tapes will be provided on-site for you to put on your posters.

FAQ

How much money should I bring with me?
Although accommodation and basic meals will be covered by the school, you might need to prepare some extra money for local transportation and additional expenses (drinks, food at night market, and purchasing during sightseeing...etc). It is recommended to prepare $100 to $200 USD with you during the visit. You will need to bring more if you plan to stay longer or to buy souvenirs for your visit.

Weather in San Diego
The weather is mild and comfortable, average high: 70°F (21°C) and average low: 63°F (17°C). For daytime activities, pack lightweight clothing such as t-shirts, shorts, sundresses, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes or sandals. Evenings may be cooler, so include a light jacket or sweater for added warmth. For visiting the beach, bring swimwear, a beach towel, sun hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Note that the Pacific Ocean water is relatively cool in June, so a light cover-up might be useful after swimming.

San Diego's style is casual and laid-back, so focus on comfort and layering to adapt to varying temperatures throughout the day.

Meals
The school provides light snacks and coffee/tea during the morning sessions, coffee/tea during breaks, lunch, and dinner. During free time there are on-campus dining halls and cafeterias, and a wide range of local restaurants around La Jolla.

Travel information can be found on the Venue page.
